Thomas Steigler is a Research Engineer at Ampcontrol supporting customers to achieve their electro-motion and energy transition targets. From first principles design through to manufacturing and commissioning, his experience in battery and hydrogen-integrated energy storage systems and vehicle modelling have been invaluable in numerous project deliveries. Thomas is a registered Chartered Professional Engineer with BE degrees in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Newcastle. Previously recognised as regional Young Professional Engineer of the Year by Engineers Australia, Thomas contributes to the engineering profession through his role as Chair of the Mechanical Committee, Newcastle Division. He actively contributes to national and international standards development in the areas of hydrogen fuel cells and hazardous area gas detectors.
