Thirty years ago, a much younger Peter Wan dipped his toe into the mining world as a way to fund his targeted ski-bum career. In 2011, these career goals finally aligned when Peter joined Teck and resumed residence at his favourite ski hill – in Rossland, BC, Canada. Having spent the majority of his mining career in mining technology and innovation, Peter has been focused on decarbonisation since 2018, and is the Manager, Mobile Fleet Decarbonization for Teck. Peter thrives on driving innovation not just into Teck, but also into the broader industry through collaborative initiatives such as the International Council of Mining & Metals and Global Mining Guidelines Group.
