Mehrzad has over 29 years’ experience in electrification and automation in mining. He started his career in an iron ore complex until he joined ABB Switzerland in 2000 as Sales Manager. Mehrzad greatly contributed in the development of ABB in the mining and cement industries, starting from the Middle East, and then globally as industry manager of nonferrous metals in 2009. In 2014, he was appointed Regional Sales Manager in Asia and Africa for large mining projects. Since 2018, he has acted as Global Product Line Manager for Electrification and is leading the ABB eMine™ initiative. Together with the ABB Mining team, Mehrzad works to build the electric and automated mine, transforming mining operations to drive a safe, sustainable and profitable future for our customers and ultimately create sustainable progress for the mining industry, as well as the earth it relies on. Mehrzad holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Iran Science and Technology.
