As the Head of the Green Power portfolio for Fortescue’s flagship decarbonisation project, Meheroop stands at the forefront of advancing cutting-edge renewable energy solutions. Fortescue, a global leader in iron ore production and sustainable energy, has set the world’s most ambitious decarbonisation target, Real Zero by 2030. Meheroop oversees a portfolio with a projected cost exceeding $3 billion upon completion. With a background spanning 17 years, Meheroop brings extensive expertise in oil and gas, renewables and mining projects. His experience encompasses project development, commissioning, start-up, and operational support for natural gas distribution networks, LNG plants and renewable energy projects. Before joining Fortescue, Meheroop dedicated over nine years to Chevron Australia, contributing to the success of the $100 billion Gorgon and Wheatstone projects. Meheroop holds an Engineering degree (Honours) from Curtin University in Perth as well as a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the same institution.
