Krunal Desai is co-Founder and Vice President for Research and Development at First Mode, leading the continuous exploration and development of innovations to accelerate heavy industry’s decarbonisation. Recent contributions include designing the First Mode Modular Power Architecture, a high-power solution that can function across a variety of battery chemistries and fuel cell systems, such as those in First Mode’s product line plus locomotives and stationary power. Prior to First Mode, he was a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer at Planetary Resources and developed first-of-its-kind technology for spacecraft avionics. Krunal earned his M.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington and his B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Kettering University in Michigan.
